The elevation of Kullu above the sea level is 1220 meters and from here, one has the opportunity to go to another wonderful place called Manali. The temple of Bijli Mahadev is an exceptional temple of beauty. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the temple is at an altitude of two thousand four hundred and thirty eight meters. To reach this temple, one has to go for trekking of 3 km. From this temple, one finds the panoramic view of Parvati and Kullu valleys. It is said that the lightening falls on the Shiv lingam and shatters it into pieces. This is a form of divine blessing.
The other attractions of Kullu are : Raghunath temple This temple was constructed in the seventeenth century by Raja Jagat Singh. The statue in the temple was brought from Ayodhya, the birth place of lord Rama. Shringi Rishi temple Shringi Rishi is the presiding deity of Banjar valley. Shringi Rishi falls among the eighteen principal deities of Kullu valley. Maha Devi tirth temple One has to travel a distance of two km from Kullu valley to reach this temple.
