Jaipur And Udaipur

Jaipur

It is also renown as “Pink City”, a capital of Rajasthan. Jaipur, a city of victory, actually built 273 years back, and it is situated 262 km away from Delhi (capital of India). It was the first planned city, which was constructed in 1727 by Swami Jai Singh –II. Jaipur was planned by a Bengali architect, named Vidhyadhar Bhattacharya, in a planned system with wide roads, streets, avenues and lanes. He also implement uniform row of shops on a side of main bazaars, and due to these planned and grid architecture, city becomes an attractive creation of universe.

aipur district is situated in the east of Rajasthan state. East and North area of Jaipur is surrounded by Arawali hills. It is also known for fairs and festivals, in every festival, people decorate jaipur as a bride, with flowers, colors and lights. On the occasion of Holi, there is a festival in Jaipur, known as a “Elephant Festival”, in which elephant get dress up and body get painted with floral decorations, one more most attractive activity of this festival is “Elephant Polo”. Apart from these festival, there are many more, like Sital Mata Fair, Chaksu Fair, Teej and Gangaur Fair.

UDAIPUR

Udaipur is also known as “City of Lakes”, Udaipur is situated on the middle of Delhi and Mumbai, and it is 700km drive away from Delhi. One can reach Udaipur by train or plain as well. In 1559, Udaipur gets founded by Maharana Udai SinghII, and it situated as final capital of Mewar Kingdom. In 1568, after the attack of Mughal emperor Akbar on Chittor, Mewars, shifted his capital to his residence, which become the city of Udaipur.

After Akbar, Maharanas, oppose the Mughal domineance and recaptured the most of the area of Mewar, except Chittor. Maharana Mahendra Singh Mewar is the current ruler of Udaipur. In Udaipur there are many of beautiful lakes, and Pichola Lake is one of the widest lakes in the state. Due to these beautiful lakes, Udaipur is also popular among tourist as “Venice of East“. Lake Pichola, Fateh sagar Lake, Udai sagar and Swaroop sagar are considered some most beautiful lake in the state..
